WWII Uniform belonging to GC Halliday


Khaki Wool jacket with sateen lining . Two breast pockets and two lower jacket pockets. Brass buttons with Crown and relief map of Australia with inscription Australian Military Forces around lower edge. Jacket is belted. Left hand top arm has patch for 6 Australian General Hospital. Captains's crowns on epaulettes . Rising sun badges on lapels. Two inside breast pockets. Sir George Halliday (Sir) George Clifton Halliday TKS 1919 NX34865 AAMC 6AGH Promoted Captain 1 April 1940 and Captain 1 November 1940 Major. Sent from Middle East to Greece then returned to 1AGH in Middle East before Special Duty 26 June 1941. 12 March 1943 returned to Australia. Discharged 22 August 1943 and Transferred to Reserve of Officers. Obit KSM December 1987
