WWII Memorial Scroll
A printed paper memorial scroll relating to the death of Warrant Office Max Milson Bettington Royal Australian Air Force who served in the war 1939-45 and gave his life. The Scroll has GVI RI above the Royal Coat of Arms. Max's name is inscribed in red ink. The wording of the scroll is;'This scroll commemorates/ (in red) Warrent Officer Max Milson Bettington/Royal Australian Air Forces/ held in honour as one who/ served King and Country in/ the world war of 1939-1945/ and gave his life to save/ mankind from tyranny. May/ his sacrifice help to bring/ the peace and freedom for/ which he died.' These scrolls were sent to the next of kin to members of the Commonwealth who lost their life in service during The Second World War.
