WWII Memorial


Bronze statue of knightly figure on a plinth with panels of the WWII fallen commissioned by the War Memorial Committee and The King's School Council.(KSM Dec 1947 p22, May 1949 p33), Sept 1949 p21) Money was subscribed by the School Community and the list of subscribers and their contibutions were published in the School Magazine. The Memorial was designed and created by Daphne Mayo and dedicated on 8 February 1953 in a special dedication service to which relatives of the fallen had been invited. (KSM May 1953 pp24-25)
