WWI ANZAC Medallion
ANZAC Memorial Medallion presented to the family of AD Mitchell. A Bronze commemorative medallion awarded to personnal in Australia and New Zealand who particiapted in the ANZAC Campaign. Obverse shows relief of Simpson and his donkey the date 1915 with a half wreath at the bottom and a crown on the top. On the reverse is a relief outline of Australia and New Zealand and the Southern Cross . The recipient's name is inscribed below the design which has a similar half wreath and crown. The medallion is presented in a black case lined with purple velvet. The Prime Minister Harold Holt announced the distribution of the Medallion 16 March 1967
