WW Brown Medals 1


1939-45 Star Medal awarded to Wallace Washington Brown. This medal is a six pointed star. Obverse is the Royal and Imperial Cypher surrounded by a double ring with the inscription The 1939-1945 Star. The ring is topped by a crown. The 3.2cm ribbon has three vertical stripes in navy blue ( Navy and Merchant Navy), red (Army) and light Blue (Air Force). Awarded for Service between 3 September 1939 and 2 September 1945. Wallace Washington Brown NX 193894 enlisted 15/2/1943 in the 1st Australian Mechanical Transport Company Section. He later was transferred to the Australian New Guinea Administration Unit. He was Mentioned in Despatches 6 March 1947 and received a US Bronze Star 1 July 1948 He also saw service in WWI
