Rear Admiral Doyle's Navy Uniform - Wool overcoat
Navy wool overcoat with brass buttons and epaulettes. Alec Broughton Doyle CBE BE was a Rear Admiral in the Royal Australian Navy. After studying Engineering at Sydney University he joined the Navy 5 months after the formation of the RAN in 1912. Alec saw active service in New Guinea during WWI and became the Engineer Manager at Garden Island during WWII. He held the position of Chief of Naval Construction then Third Naval Member at the Navy Office, Melbourne from 1943 until his retirement in 1948. Fora more complete bio see link.
