MG Fielding WWI Uniform


Khaki Wool Uniform Jacket of the King Edward's Horse and Oxford and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry Regiment belonging to Captain Morris Glanville Fielding MC TKS 1906-1911. Jacket has two breast pocket and two lower pockets. Front has brass buttons with KEH emblem a hunting horn and tassels, and intials on edge. Medal ribbons above left breast pocket. Military Cross, 1914-1915 War Medal, 1914-1918 medal and Victory Medal. Fielding was promoted to Corporal in the 2nd Troop C Squadron and fought at Festbert and Hesdigneul, May 1915 and at Loos in September 1915. He was given a commission for distinguished service in the field, Jan. 1916 and in March joined the 2nd battalion of the Oxford and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, the old 52nd Light Infantry. In Nov. 1916 Fielding fought at Beaumont Hamel and was awarded the Military Cross for conspicuous gallantry in action. He was promoted Captain in Jan. 1917 and after being severely wounded in May 1917 served at Portsmouth and Dover as company commander. He was invalided back to Australia in 1919.
