Inscription on reverse in handwriting of NH Wright Resident Magistrate and Acting Administrator from 1914 with 1st Naval and Military Force to take German New Guinea. Killed 1915 shot by sniper when riding his motorbike to his office after fighting had stopped but all Germans had been "rounded up"
