Letter 4 R Buckland to his father
This is the only letter in the collection written specifically to his father. The family lived on a property at Gulgong. This was during Reg's first year away from home boarding. His referred to the 3rds Rugby Game at Shore. The match was held 8 August and the School lost 0-24.(KSM Sept 1908 p465) He recounts the student numbers and is almost correct. The records say there were 61 (57) boarders and 36 (33) day boys. Bennett and Wood were importers for cycles and spare parts and very well respected within the cycling fraternity. *See Link. The bike would have travelled to Parramatta by train and Reg would walked from the School to the station to take delivery.
