Boer War Honour Board


The wooden Honour Board in Corinthian Style of known Old Boys who enlisted in the South African War (Boer War ) 1899-1902 was unveiled at Speech Day June 17th 1904 by the Governor , His Excellency, Admiral Sir HH Rawson, KCB. On the upper panel appears a carved School coat of arms in front of which was, until the board was moved to Gowan Brae, a lance and a Lee-Metford Carbine. A print of the board thus mounted in the Upper School at Parramatta may be seen as the frontispiece to the September 1904 King's School Magazine. In addtion to the names, the rank and unit of each Old Boy is also listed.
