Bell


Bronze handbell with Inscription F Hemony ME-Fecit 1569. F Hemony cast me in the year 1569 however these hand bells were cast by a Dutch company in 1880. Donated in 1973 for "the adornment of the Museum" The bell's handle is the shape of a man wearing a leather cap. The bell has various scenes of fighting, a profile of a man and two supplicants approaching a seated man. There appears evidence of some white paint remaining on the edges of the castings.
